Join Younger People with Dementia at Dorney Lake Events and help raise integral funds to provide support for younger families affected by dementia in our community!

We are YPWD and our charity provides support services throughout the working week to people with dementia who are diagnosed under the age of 65. We support families from as early as in their 30’s, who never could have foreseen that they would be living with a progressive disease so early on in their lives. Dementia does not discriminate.

The support we provide is for families living in South East England, primarily in Berkshire, Surrey Heath, Farnham, NE Hants and Woking. Our services include one to one support, carer and children’s groups, social events, education and training and activity-based workshops. Examples of the meaningful and age-appropriate activities we run throughout the week are katakanuing, equine therapy, pottery painting and walking groups, and these are free of charge.

Our charity provides a safe and fun environment, reducing loneliness, promoting confidence, boosting mood and offering a helping hand to not just the person with dementia, but their loved ones who are coming to terms with the illness.

In 2022/23 we delivered:

– 562 activity-based workshops

– 131 one-to-one support sessions

– 8 social events

– 3 education courses

– 2 micro group sessions

Please join us at the Dorney Lake Events this year to help us continue to help younger families live better with dementia.
